Hikers
Dear hikers in the Meerheuvel area,
We, the fly fishers of Meerheuvel, would like to inform you about the area and the agreements that apply there.
Meerheuvel is a water reservoir owned by De Watergroep. In 2014, an agreement was concluded in which De Watergroep granted the Meerheuvel Fly Fishing Association permission to organise fly fishing for its members.
This agreement states that any damage or pollution caused by members of the association will be charged to the association. It was also agreed that, as an association, we share responsibility for the maintenance of the area, namely the management of the grasslands, cleaning up litter, and so on. To safeguard the future of the association, we are therefore very committed to the area.
We would like to inform you that occasional hikers are allowed to walk on the path along the Meerheuvel lake. Dogs are also welcome, provided they are kept (short) on a leash.
However, the following are strictly prohibited at all times:
• Dogs running loose
• Swimming in the lake
• Picnicking
Please also be careful when fishing is taking place from the bank; it is important to avoid walkers being injured when the rod is cast. As a fishing association, there is a hope for mutual respect so that everyone can enjoy this beautiful environment together.
Kind regards,
Meerheuvel Fly Fishing Association
